Tandulachi Bhakri: A Konkani Style Flatbread Recipe

Welcome to the world of Konkani cuisine! Today, we'll be learning how to make Tandulachi Bhakri, a traditional flatbread from the Konkan region.

First, gather 2 cups of rice flour, 1 cup of water, and a pinch of salt. Mix them together to form a dough.

Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into thin discs. This is the base for our Bhakri.

Heat a tawa (griddle) on medium heat and place the Bhakri on it. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Now, let's make the special Konkani style masala for our Bhakri. In a pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil and add 1 tsp of mustard seeds.

Once the mustard seeds start to splutter, add 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped tomato, and 1 chopped green chili. Saute until the onions turn translucent.

Next, add 1 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of red chili powder, and 1 tsp of coriander powder. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add 1 cup of water and let the masala simmer for 5 minutes. Then, add the cooked Bhakri to the masala and let it soak up all the flavors.

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with a side of coconut chutney. Your Tandulachi Bhakri is now ready to be enjoyed!
